Review: The AC Source Book by Sabah Karimi

29 October 2009 2 Comments
Authored by one of Associated Content’s most prolific contributors, Sabah Karimi, The AC Source Book walks you through the basics of publishing–and succeeding–with Associated Content.  Although the book is geared towards new contributors, even experienced writers can learn from this book, which includes effective promotion methods, how to specifically use search engine optimization (SEO) in articles, and how to create articles that garner substantial page views.
Specifics
The AC Source Book is a walkthrough through the entire Associated Content submission process.  It includes information found by participating in the AC forums, but also includes information you won’t find there.
It also explains the basics of SEO and how to specifically use it in article titles and paragraphs.  Though this won’t be valuable to experienced online writers, new contributors can learn of all her listed techniques and advice in days.  This books breaks down the complicated parts of AC submission into simple, easy-to-follow lessons.
Compared to contributors who have used official tutorials or the forums to learn how to submit powerful AC articles, the speed at which you learn these techniques is very convenient.  Many writers take months to learn how to master it, but she sums it up in several chapters.
Other topics covered in Karimi’s book include:
Which articles they pay for–and which ones they don’t
How to format web articles for acceptance at Associated Content
How to think of new article ideas that are unique but popular
The importance of promoting articles–and where to promote it
A step by step process for creating an effective, SEO rich article
Links to important AC resources
Value
This is a highly recommended book for new writers.  Karimi lays down everything contributors need to know in order to succeed at AC–a process you would have to actively learn for months if you used the tutorials and advice offered by AC contributors.
For experienced contributors, this is simply a more detailed version of what you already know.  The promotion section is valuable for all contributors, however.  The only real inconveniece here is the price, which can be made up with a month or two of consistent article submissions to AC.
Price
The AC Source Book is available as a paperback book or an e-book, only available online.  The paperback is $29.00, which is a bit expensive, but you can save money by purchasing the e-book, which contains the same information for $19.00.  Both versions span roughly 50 pages.
The e-book also comes with a complimentary Social Media Promotion Report, authored by Karimi, which is an extended version of the promotion section, explaining where to promote, how to promote, and how to speed up the article promotion process.  Hint: there are over 40 websites listed in her report–not the typical stuff you’ll find on the AC forums.
