How WJR Started

When I first became a freelance writer I didn’t know where to turn.  Up, down, left or right, I simply couldn’t find the information I needed to succeed on the world wide web.

I am approaching my third year as a freelance writer and the environment hasn’t changed a whole lot.  I’ve scoured the Internet only to find websites that offered general information about coping with freelance writing and how to manage my time.  That’s great, but I needed more specific information about online writing.

I wanted to find gigs, but most job boards or forums focused on one niche, such as low paying online websites or magazines.  They offered great information, but I was wasting time searching through numerous job board every day to find a new writing gig.

What about specific tutorials about succeeding on certain websites?  How about detailed information about how to increase my writing and research speed?  Very few websites existed.

Frustrated, I decided to give birth to Writing Job Resource.  Writing Job Resource combines everything I needed from a website–online and offline writing gigs, tutorials on writing websites, tips for writing well, SEO help, and so much more.

My goal is to make WJR the best place for novice, professional, or occasional freelance writers to find writing opportunities and improve their web writing skills.  The Internet is booming with possibilities, and staking your claim here ensures a steady stream of livable income.
