High Times is looking for articles, features, and news stories relating to cannabis, including growing techniques, articles covering cannabis in the media, reviews, and commentary about current events relating to marijuana.  Photographs are highly encouraged for marijuana how to’s or growing advice.

Who They Are: High Times is a very well known magazine that advocates marijuana use and its legalization.  It is considered to be the best source for marijuana news and stories.  Former writers for High Times include Truman Capote and Hunter S. Thompson.

What They Want: High Times is looking for informative, informational article and short clips about marijuana, the cannabis lifestyle, and psychedelics.  Avoid writing personal essays or articles–they will reject it.  Features and marijuana growing articles are paid $1,000 max.  Reviews or entertainment coverage gets $300 max.

When They Want It: High Times has no deadlines listed for any of their upcoming magazines.  It’s still a good idea to consider any upcoming holidays and events before submitting an article idea.

Keep in mind this magazine is controversial.  Future clients may take offense if you are featured in this magazine.  If this is a problem, then do not submit a query.
