Redbook is looking for news stories, essays, articles or interesting reports dealing with women–more specifically, women moving from single to married life and wives transitioning to motherhood.  Redbook is a national magazine, meaning they expect the best, pay better than other lesser known publications, and will look excellent on your writing resume.
Who They Are: A national magazine that regularly publishes features on women transitoning through important life stages, such as motherhood or marriage.
What They Want: Smart articles about new or exciting trends, information about relationships, inspiring stories, and important news stories that directly address their target audience.  Emotionality is a plus.
Query: Redbook doesn’t require queries, but they strongly recommend it.
Other Details: They only acccept queries or manuscripts through mail.  The query should be detailed but exciting enough to grab the editor’s interest immediately–you’ll want to put in your hook immediately into the query.
